![]() ![]() Just as the Enclave in fallout 2 where you can infiltrate the enclave by being a new recruit picked up from the wastes essentially. They really strike me with the same tone as the Enclave, where you are one of us, if you are not then you are not human. ![]() Yes, the institutue also views the surplus humanity as less than human, hence why they are willing to abduct and experiment on them with the FEV creating the supermutants. ![]() Because of this so many of these Synths start leaving as they "malfunction" They clearly want to be powerful and feared by their creations. Because its not enough that they have a robot who does so because its programmed, they want something that knows that something bad will happen to it if it disobeys. Its also not enough that they have robot servants, they want to create more and more human like robot servants. So the institutes policy is really a plague on the commonwealth, they have helped nothing, and hurt everything in their pursuit of an isolated utopia while experimenting on the Surplus humans of the surface. Even petty theft in the institute is punished by being turned into a supermutant (Or behemoth, like Swan). Well, the supermutants that they create are definitely a problem and have added a fear to the commonwealth that was unheard of before as well as replacing key people in the commonwealth with synths and the people replaced are often abducted and turned into supermutants. ![]()
